Our Story
The inspiration behind Setor Lord-Attivor traces back to the late 1980s and early 1990s, when a cherished Ghanaian tradition began to fade: the practice of serving food, particularly waakye, wrapped in natural leaves.
As lifestyle habits shifted, a sudden rise in health concerns linked to poorly handled leaves caused communities to
abandon the practice. Realizing that this beautiful piece of cultural heritage was on the verge of dying out, the designer felt compelled to act.
As a self-taught leather craftsman and a background in architecture, he spent years mastering the material through hands-on experimentation. After extensive brainstorming to find a way to preserve this legacy, a breakthrough of designing luxury leather bags emerged. Setor making process beautifully mimics the folding and wrapping process of the traditional Ghanaian method of wrapping food in leaves.
Each piece is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted in London, capturing the spirit of tradition with a contemporary twist. From bags inspired by the Ghanaian tradition of wrapping food in leaves, to hats that pay homage to the classic Fedora, these creations are timeless, effortless, and always conversation worthy.
